1 — Agreement & scope
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and VedicChart regarding your access to and use of vedicchart.net and its associated calculators and content (the "Service"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is provided for general educational and reflective purposes. Nothing on this site creates a professional astrologer–client, medical, financial, or legal relationship. For how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy and About page.
2 — What the service provides
What VedicChart does
VedicChart currently provides:
- A free Vedic birth chart calculator (D1) showing Ascendant, Moon sign, Nakshatra and pada, nine planets by sign/house/degree, houses in whole-sign, Rahu as the true node with Ketu opposite, and Navamsa (D9) with Vargottama indication.
- Companion calculators — Nakshatra, Sade Sati, Vimshottari Dasha (major and sub-periods), and Navamsa D9 — each derived from the same sidereal calculation with the Lahiri correction and full time-zone history.
- A short, rule-based reading that summarises the calculated placements — not a live consultation.
- Long-form guides such as "How to read a Vedic birth chart" with a 7-step order, house table, and practice chart.
The calculator and the short reading are live. Independent deep-dive calculators beyond the set above are roadmap items; production or "live" status for any page should be verified from the deployed site, not from a roadmap sentence.
3 — Educational use · Not professional advice
Not professional advice
VedicChart shows emphasis, pattern, and timing through the lens of Jyotish — for example, which house a planet occupies, which Dasha is running, or how a placement appears in D9. It does not predict medical outcomes, financial returns, legal results, or the fixed course of a relationship.
Do not use the chart alone to make consequential decisions about health treatment, investment, litigation, or any matter that requires a qualified professional. If a health symptom, legal question, or financial risk is involved, consult the relevant licensed professional regardless of what a transit, house, or period suggests.
Any "remedy," behavioral note, or traditional framing on the site is offered as cultural context for Saturn, Dasha, or Nakshatra — not as a prescription or guarantee.
4 — Your responsibilities
Provide accurate inputs and read the result in context
- Accurate birth details — the chart is only as correct as the date, exact time, and birthplace you provide. Historical time-zone rules, including the skipped or repeated hour around daylight-saving changes, are applied automatically; using today's offset for an older birth will shift the chart by an hour.
- Birth-time sensitivity — exact time is essential for Ascendant, houses, and Navamsa. A small error can change Lagna and house lords. If time is unknown, planetary signs may still be informative, but house-based and D9 readings should be treated as provisional.
- Place selection — choose the precise birthplace from the search suggestions so coordinates and historical zone rules match the moment of birth.
- Intended use — you agree to use results as described above (education, reflection, self-study) and not as sole grounds for medical, financial, or legal action.
5 — Acceptable use
What you may not do
When using the Service you agree not to:
- Use the site in a way that harms, overloads, or interferes with its availability (for example, automated scraping, brute-force search of place records, or repeated bulk calculation at abusive volume).
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the calculation service or its data, or to bypass security controls.
- Inject malicious code, probe for vulnerabilities without permission, or impersonate another person or service.
- Republish the site's content at scale, resell access, or build a competing product by systematically copying the guides, chart rendering, or place dataset via automated means.
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes or to generate misleading claims about what a chart guarantees.
Brief quotation of guides or sharing your own chart for personal discussion is permitted with clear attribution and a link — see Intellectual property.
6 — Intellectual property
Ownership and permitted sharing
The Service — including its design, calculators, chart rendering, copy, and educational guides — is owned by VedicChart and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. Birthplace records originate from GeoNames and are used under their licensing.
- Your inputs remain yours. You retain rights to the birth details you submit and to the factual chart positions returned for that birth.
- Your output — you may save, screenshot, and share the chart calculated for your own birth for personal study or discussion.
- Our content — you may quote short excerpts from guides with attribution and a link back to the original page. Large-scale reproduction, scraping, or republishing without permission is not allowed.
7 — Accuracy & availability
How accurate is the chart, and when is the site available?
8 — Disclaimers
Service provided "as is"
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your expectations, that calculations will be error-free for every birth, or that access will be uninterrupted.
9 — Limitation of liability
What we do not cover
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VedicChart and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the extent liability cannot be excluded, total aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service will not exceed the amount you have paid to use the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for the current free calculators, is zero). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in those places the above limits apply to the extent permitted.
10 — Indemnity
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VedicChart and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person.
11 — Changes to these terms
Updates
We may update these Terms when the Service, its features, or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and for material updates we will give more prominent notice on the site for a reasonable period. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
12 — Suspension & termination
Misuse and access
We may limit, suspend, or terminate access where use violates these Terms, harms the Service or other users, or creates legal risk — for example, abusive automated querying or use that misrepresents what the chart guarantees. Where reasonable, we will explain the action on request via support@vedicchart.net.
13 — General provisions
Severability, waiver, entire agreement
- Severability — if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect and the unenforceable part is modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable.
- No waiver — failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
- Entire agreement — these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement for the web Service. Any separate written agreement you enter (for example, a partnership agreement) may add to, but does not silently replace, these Terms for other users.
- Governing law — unless a specific separate agreement says otherwise, questions about these Terms are handled under general principles applicable to an online service provided without a mandatory consumer-contract venue election. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law of your own jurisdiction.
14 — Contact

FAQ
Terms — FAQ
Is the chart on VedicChart a professional astrological consultation?
No. VedicChart is a calculation and educational tool. It shows sidereal planetary positions derived from the birth details you provide and offers a rule-based summary tied to those placements. It is not a professional consultation and does not replace advice from a qualified professional for medical, financial, or legal decisions.
Can I rely on the chart alone to make major life decisions?
No. A birth chart shows emphasis and timing through houses, planetary periods, and divisional context — not a guaranteed outcome. Treat it as reflection and study, then bring consequential choices to the relevant professional and to the rest of the chart as one whole.
What if my birth time is uncertain?
Then some parts of the result are provisional. Ascendant, house placements, and Navamsa (D9) are the most sensitive to birth-time error. Planetary signs may still be useful, but house-based conclusions should be read as uncertain. Where possible, use the time recorded on a birth certificate and a precise birthplace.
Can I reuse text or charts from VedicChart?
You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back, and you may share a chart calculated for your own birth. Reproducing the site at scale, scraping birthplace data, or copying guides wholesale is not permitted. See Intellectual property below.
